Drop-in Program: An opportunity for our consumers to come over to our office, have a cup of coffee, and socialize with our staff and other consumers. Everyone is welcome to our drop-in centre, located in the lower level of our office.

Outreach Worker and Consumer Support Workers provide assistance for crisis intervention and support for consumers (housing, psychiatrists, financial aid, shopping, etc.). At present, we have two Consumer Support Workers on staff, and an Outreach Worker who works out of our office as a liaison and partner from the Regional Mental Health board. By promoting both physical and mental well being, we enable the consumer to participate more fully in the community.

S.O.S., Survivors of Schizophrenia is a weekly consumer self-help group that assists with support, support, problem-solving and recognition of successes. By working with others who face the same problems and challenges, consumers are able to formulate better coping strategies and resources.

Creative Writing & Art are weekly groups that help consumers express their creative abilities through poems, stories, and art. Through participation, the consumers become less isolated, and more confident in their ability to contribute to their community on a meaningful level.

Women’s Group meets weekly and provides an opportunity to address women’s issues in a safe and supportive setting. It allows consumers to form friendships and supportive bonds that lessen isolation and depression.

Social and Recreational Events such as Annual Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving Dinners, and recreational activities like swimming, movies, wiener roasts, bowling, and gardening go on throughout the year. While recreational and social activities may seem, on the surface at least, to be merely fun and games, they provide far more than that to our consumers. Through this type of interaction with others, the consumer begins to interact more confidently within the community. They develop a more positive self-image, and become less isolated by their illness. This enables them to become much more self-reliant, and better able to maintain a healthy balance in their lives, thus promoting both physical and mental well being.

Rosewood Manor is a ten-unit apartment complex providing safe, clean, affordable housing for persons with the illness of schizophrenia.
